Water Heater Installation & Repair

Plenty of what looks like a dead water heater is not. A pilot that will not stay lit, a tripped high-limit switch, a failed thermocouple or a burnt-out upper element are all repairs measured in parts and an hour, not in thousands of dollars.

So the first thing we do is work out which failure it actually is, and tell you plainly whether the tank is worth saving. On a unit with years left in it, a repair is the right answer and we will say so.

Once a steel tank has rusted through from the inside there is no repair — the leak is the tank itself, and it will only get bigger. The same goes for a unit well past its service life that has started needing a part every winter.

We size the replacement to the house rather than to whatever came out of it. A family that lost hot water every time the dishwasher ran was under-sized before, and putting the same thing back in repeats the problem for another decade.

A water heater swap is only as good as what it is connected to. Undersized supply lines, a relief valve discharging into nowhere, a missing expansion tank on a closed system, or venting that was never right on the old unit — these are the things that turn a new heater into a callback.

We would rather correct them on the day than come back to them, and we will show you what we found rather than just adding a line to the invoice.
