Lincoln’s villages — Manville, Albion, Lonsdale, Saylesville — were built around the mills, and the housing that came with them is now well over a century old.

These are the houses where a repipe is genuinely worth costing out rather than patching another pinhole. Galvanised that has been in the ground and in the walls that long has no good years left in it, and the leaks arrive faster each winter.

Further up towards Limerock the housing is newer and more spread out, and the work is mostly heating and water heaters.
